Recent Reviews Econo Lodge Sebring

I walked into the room and immediately noticed the smell of mildew and strong musty air. Every surface of everything in the room had dirt and sticky film residue on it like it had not been cleaned for months. The furniture was dirty and showed signs of water damage. The smoke detector was on the floor and the wires in the wall were exposed and not terminated for protection. Then a small roach crawled into my wife’s shoe which she just happened to see. This was all observed in the first 20 minutes of being in the room. The pillows were literally the thinnest useless pillows I have ever seen in a hotel room. I had no expectations of switching to another room as they would not have been in any better condition after reading earlier reviews by other people. The shower was a slip and fall hazard due to the slick ceramic tiles used in the bathroom area . I will never stay at a Econo Lodge hotel without inspecting the room first. This particular location is currently being sued for such conditions and negligence. I was told I would get a military discount but it wasn’t on my receipt, the total price for a one night stay was $146.25 which was way overpriced for the condition of the hotel and my room. I will be forwarding photos and my review to the corporate level for a possible refund of some sort for me and my wife who was distressed and disgusted with the whole situation.

The door and walls have mold and there are bugs and insects. We felt sick from breathing the air in the room. The TV only had cable and my children couldn't wait to get out. We slept with the lights on for fear of what would have crawled out in the dark. On top of everything we think the beds had bed bugs we were extremely itchy and could barley sleep. We only stayed because it was one night and we were very tired. Had we read the reviews we would have gone elsewhere for only about $30 more.

The Hotel was not very clean or comfortable. Although the floor had no dirt (minimum requirement) stuff like the bathroom was not clean, the celling fan was hanging out and un covered in room 220. The shower tub was stained and dirty. Lamp shades had large amount of dirt and stains on them. Myself and my wife had to go to Walmart for clean pillow cases and blankets. Bad smell in the room as well. We bought cleaning supplies and clean the room ourselves. The location was good, and area was safe however. The hotel needs a good update and clean.

Wow, I don’t mind low rent places, but this has to be the worst ever. And it wasn’t “cheap”! Dirty floors, moldy desk, no toilet tissue holder. Dollar Tree isn’t that far away! Terrible lighting, no hot showers, only barely lukewarm. |I did sleep good, but partner did not. Owners do not invest in their property and it shows. I feel sorry for the employees (who were new when we were there) They get to hear the complaints but are powerless to do anything, and are probably scared to tell their employer. Parking lot under repairs with no warning tape that the road was dug out around the curb! Sorry for the guy that comes in late at night…|No real continental breakfast, small stale muffins (maybe just a cheap, poorly made brand). Coffee in lobby only.|Fridge, microwave, tv, hairdryer were working. I would not recommend unless it’s your only choice (as in our case), only in town for flea market and other hotels were either booked up or several hundred dollars more. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

The ice machine was completely unsanitary and unsafe for use.

My room had a very bad odor, like must or mold. I was nauseated within five minutes. Left the motel and found a room elsewhere. I came back for a refund of one of two nights, but was rejected. The clerk said they had a no refund policy. So, I am out $500. That is not fair. Apparently others can handle that smell, but I couldn't. I was offered another room, but I already went to a different hotel. I that room was bad, others most likely were also.

Bugs everywhere in side the room. Room wasn't clean had stains on the lamp shade dust on the top of the microwave and refrigerator had stains on the mirror that could have been cleaned bus wasn't. Laziness on everything will never stay there again not worth it.

Warning Please Read! My father visited last year and stayed at this hotel, after leaving he became extremely ill due to an autoimmune disease we were unaware he had. I honestly thought we were going to lose him. I didn’t think much of it until they came back this year and stayed at the same hotel. I’m telling you right now, if you care about your health this is not the place to go. Rooms are not accessible to those with disabilities just because you have ramps on your sidewalk doesn’t make it easy for those to get around. If you have a wheelchair, you can’t get to the bathroom. Doors have peep holes that have been covered up because they were drilled too low, duct tape door handles, microwaves that are too small to fit popcorn in, mini fridges that leak water all over the floor (which is a slipping hazard, especially for those with disabilities), fridge also look like it was disgusting (but I didn’t look close enough to see if it was rusted or dirty) bed skirts, literally look like someone took a dusting rag and just wiped it all over the skirt, furniture in the room literally falling apart or ripped, flooring is coming up and buckling, toilets don’t work properly, bathroom sinks also leak every time you use them. To top it off they can’t even swing for a regular size muffin for their continental breakfast, very lacking. I think the biggest kicker was either, the mold smelling room or the fact there was a booger smeared on the wall.
